The Carry Index ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website carryindex.com and the associated Android application (the "Service"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information. When you sign in using a social provider (Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter/X, or GitHub), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive or store your password.
User-generated content. If you create an account, we store the data you save in the app: your kit lists, favourite items, personal notes, ratings, wear logs, and collections. This data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore.
Usage data. We collect anonymised analytics data (pages viewed, features used, session duration) via Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the Service is used and improve it.
Device information. We may collect basic device information (operating system, browser type) for debugging and compatibility purposes.
The Carry Index participates in affiliate programmes including the Amazon Associates Programme. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking affiliate links may set cookies on third-party sites; please refer to those sites' privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party service providers who process it on our behalf:

We retain your account and saved data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Anonymous analytics data may be retained for up to 26 months.
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to restrict or object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below.
We use industry-standard security measures, including Firebase's built-in security rules, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
